Labor by design: contributions of David Card, Joshua Angrist, and Guido Imbens*

چکیده
Abstract The 2021 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences Memory of Alfred Nobel was awarded to David Card “for his empirical contributions labor economics” and Joshua Angrist Guido Imbens their methodological the analysis causal relationships”. We survey these three laureates, discuss how insights transformed modern practice applied microeconomics. By emphasizing research design formalizing content different econometric procedures, laureates shed new light on key questions economics advanced a robust toolkit for analyses across many fields.
